November and December have been really busy months here at Charisma, with new season’s stock arriving a whole month earlier than usual. We normally start to have new deliveries for spring arrive from about the second week of December. This year our new stock started to arrive at the beginning of November. The reason for that change is the buzz about the 2020 wedding season.
It seems that everyone likes the idea of being married during this special year. We saw a downturn in weddings in 2013 and 2020 is having the opposite effect. We are reliably informed by local wedding venues and photographers that wedding bookings are through the roof and we have certainly already had Mum’s of both Brides and Grooms out looking for their outfits for the big day, for dates as late as autumn 2020.
We’re sure that 2020 is going to be a really special year for anyone getting married. So now is a good time for us to give you some advice about shopping for your wedding outfit.
We buy just 3 outfits of any style and each one will be a different size. They are bought six months before they arrive at the shop and once they have been delivered the designers move on to working on the next season. This is the reason that we can’t get more of a style that we have sold out of or order one in a different size if you have found something that you like that’s not in your size.
We really do suggest that you get out and start your search for your outfit as soon as you can to ensure that you get the maximum chance of your chosen outfit being available. If it’s a little too big, it’s not a problem as we are now working with the very experienced ladies at The Sewing Studio in Totton to ensure that your outfit fits perfectly on the big day.
Although it’s a great idea to have a look on the internet to get an idea of styles that you may like to try, do try to be open to suggestions as ladies often fall for a dress only to find that it is from 2 years ago and can’t be sourced anywhere. Although this can be disappointing, often the outfit that you love in the picture isn’t the right one once you start trying on. The best thing to do is try a variety of styles and labels, you’ll soon realise what you feel good in and it’s often not the style you were expecting to love.
